The holiday season has come to an end, and so has the shopping season. This holiday season, there is still one type of highly active buyer – homebuyers.

Real estate experts expect to see a flurry of activity this winter, which is great news for today’s sellers. It doesn’t matter if you’re planning to list your home this spring or not; today’s market is already heating up – don’t wait until the spring for better conditions.

Winter is proving to be an attractive season for buyers

Many of us have experienced significant lifestyle changes in the past 18 months, including remote work, job changes, and even early retirement. Many people are starting their search for a new home now rather than waiting for warmer weather.

According to Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist at the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the following factors may boost sales this winter:

“Compared to other past winter seasons, this winter season’s sales activity will be stronger. . . . This winter, there will be more sales compared to pre-pandemic winters going back all the way to 2006.”

If sales activity is intense, what does that mean for you? As a result, more buyers will likely be active in the market this winter, compared to years before the pandemic.

Danielle Hale, Chief Economist for Realtor.com, summarizes it as follows:

Sellers can expect to see plenty of buyers.”

There is a greater likelihood that your home will get noticed if more buyers are in the market. There can be several offers or bidding wars as a result. When you receive multiple offers on your house, you can pick the right offer and terms based on your situation – so you can win as a seller this winter.

Bottom Line

If you are considering selling your Denver house, you don’t have to wait until the spring. The market is hot now. Get in touch so we can talk about why selling could be the gift that keeps on giving this holiday season.
