What’s going on with the housing market on a national level?
Where is the market heading? What are mortgage rates doing? How are things with the Fed? Is inflation on the rise? Today’s market offers so many opportunities to speculate, so let’s hear what the experts have to say.
I’m Tristan Colborg, The Denver Real Estate Agent. I want to take a couple of minutes to put all of this information into perspective for you. The number of homes available is a significant thing to consider. According to Realtor.com, we saw almost 27 percent fewer homes on the market on average from December 2020 to December 2021. Even with how hard it is to get a home, it hasn’t slowed down buyers!
In November of 2021, there were more showings than in November of 2020, according to ShowingTime Monthly Index. As Showing Time’s president says,
“Showings traditionally lag during the holiday season, but the data we’re seeing tells us that buyer demand remains strong. The fact that every region showed a year-over-year increase indicates that buyers are undeterred, and it speaks to their desire to keep searching for their next home.”
And these numbers are crushing the showing numbers from before the world went sideways. Buyers are out there, and they are ready!
