About Aurora

Colorado’s third-largest city, Aurora, is just east of Denver. In addition to its picturesque mountain view, Aurora is surrounded by high desert prairies with a full view of the city’s skyline and the Front Range. Aurora is within minutes of Denver International Airport, making travel a breeze.

The once quaint, farming community of Aurora has now grown into a bustling city filled with active residents. There are over 5,000 acres of hiking trails in Aurora, as well as over 100 parks, two reservoirs for fishing, water sports, and seven golf courses. Since Aurora sits at the base of the Rocky Mountains, there’s even more opportunity for outdoor adventure.

For lovers of water sports, Aurora’s reservoirs offer fun activities such as sailing, kayaking, and windsurfing. There is also the 220-acre Aurora Sports Park which consists of 12 baseball fields, 27 soccer fields, and a multi-purpose field.

Aurora is Colorado’s most diverse city, and it’s also home to an array of restaurants that specialize in ethnic cuisines including Korean barbecue, Afghan kabobs, Vietnamese pho, Ethiopian injera, Mexican tacos, Vietnamese food, and Thai food.

This city is not only home to a thriving cultural scene, but it is also home to a booming business sector and growing industries such as aerospace, renewable energy, bioscience, and healthcare, keeping Aurora’s unemployment rate below the national average. Stanley Marketplace is a popular community venue in Aurora thanks to the city’s booming economy. On the original runway of the Denver airport, Stanley Marketplace houses over 50 boutiques, bars, breweries, restaurants, fitness studios, and event venues.
